• attestation: Geirrid warned Gunnlaug not to travel home that evening because of ride-by-nights abroad, telling him he looked unlucky

• attestation: Geirrid predicted that Odd's companionship would be useless and Gunnlaug would pay for his stubbornness

• attestation: Geirrid of Mewlithe sent word that Odd Katlason had struck off Aud's hand, based on Aud's testimony and Odd's boasting

  "Geirrid, the goodwife at Mewlithe, sent word to Lairstead that she was ware of this, that Odd Katlason had stricken off the hand from Aud"

• attestation: Geirrid met Arnkel's party on their way back and insisted they return, declaring that sorcery could not prevail against her

  "Geirrid to meet them, with a workman of hers, and asked, how they had fared"

• attestation: Geirrid wore a blue mantle and declared that leaf-sails would not serve against Katla's magic

  "Geirrid had a blue mantle over her; and when their coming was seen from Holt, Katla was told that now they were fourteen folk altogether, and one of them in coloured raiment"

• attestation: Geirrid countered Katla's magic by placing a sealskin bag over her head, after which Odd was found in the hollow dais
