Thorir Long-chin was a king of Agdir who fell at the Battle of Hafr's Firth (Egil's Saga, Chapter 1 - Of Kveldulf and his sons. > Chapter 9 - Battle in Hafr's Firth.). Before the battle, Thorir and Kjotvi sent envoys to Onund, requesting his aid after hearing of his landing, and promising to treat him with honor (Grettir's Saga, The Saga Of Grettir The Strong > Chapter Ii. The Battle Of Hafrsfjord).

Two sagas attest Thorir Long-chin's involvement in the Battle of Hafr's Firth (Hafrsfjord), but from different angles. Egil's Saga records his death bluntly -- "Thorir Longchin, king of Agdir, fell there" -- positioning him among the defeated kings who opposed Harald Fairhair's consolidation of Norway. Grettir's Saga, by contrast, captures the diplomatic prelude: Thorir and Kjotvi actively recruited allies, sending envoys to Onund with promises of honorable treatment. Together the sources frame Thorir as both a coalition-builder and a casualty, a king who organized resistance to Harald but could not survive the decisive confrontation.
