King Marsil of Pomitain appears in Le Morte d'Arthur during the tournament episodes of Book X. A knight of King Marsil comes forward "to revenge his lord" during the third day of jousting, only to be struck down by King Bagdemagus (Le Morte d'Arthur, Book X, Chapter XLIV). On the fourth day, King Marsil enters the field alongside the King with the Hundred Knights and all of Northgalis, where he is introduced in the company of the Duke Chaleins of Clarance (Le Morte d'Arthur, Book X, Chapter XLV). In the same passage, Marsil himself is smote down alongside the King of Northgalis (Le Morte d'Arthur, Book X, Chapter XLV).
