Kjallak is attested in the Laxdaela Saga as a figure in Icelandic genealogy. According to the text, Kjallak had a son named Thorgrim, "who was the father of Fight-Styr and Vemund" (Laxdaela Saga, Chap. II). The saga also records that "the daughter of Kjallak was named Helga, who was the wife of Vestar of Eyr" (Laxdaela Saga, Chap. II). Kjallak thus appears as a genealogical link between several families in the settlement period.
Kjallak was the father of Thorgrim and of Helga, who married Vestar of Eyr (Laxdaela Saga). Through Thorgrim, he was the grandfather of Fight-Styr and Vemund.
