Hrutafjord is a place in Iceland attested in Grettir's Saga. The men of Hrutafjord and Vatnsnes intervened to prevent two opposing sides from coming to blows with weapons during a horse-fight at Langafit (Grettir's Saga, Chapter Xxix. Horse-Fight At Langafit). Their intervention prevented bloodshed at what was evidently a violent confrontation arising from the horse-fight tradition (Grettir's Saga, Chapter Xxix. Horse-Fight At Langafit).
