Budle is a Danish figure attested in the Gesta Danorum, where he appears as the younger brother of King Siward. Two attestations trace the arc of his political fortunes: Siward "came to the throne by right of birth, while his brother Budle was still of tender years" (Gesta Danorum, Book Eight), and later "Budle, the brother of Siward, was Regent over the Danes, who forced him to make over the kingdom to Jarmerik when he came; so that Budle fell from a king into a common man" (Gesta Danorum, Book Eight). His trajectory from royal youth to displaced regent illustrates Saxo's recurring interest in the instability of Danish succession.

Budle is the sibling of Atle and is connected to Gudrun through kinship.
